Central Jakarta Police Failed Circulation Of Drugs Worth Rp30 Billion With The Code 'Bird Carrying Methamphetamine'

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested SM (53) a cross-border drug dealer with 22 kilograms of methamphetamine as evidence. During the arrest process, the police obtained the password that the perpetrators used as the code for the item that had been sent.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin said the arrest took place in the Medan area, North Sumatra on Monday, July 18, at 21.00 WIB. The police then conducted a search of the suspect's home.

"After we secured it. After that, we searched the house. From SM's house, we searched and managed to secure as many as 22 Chinese tea packaging bags. It was suspected that they contained methamphetamine. After we did the weighing, the total gross was recorded at 21,950 grams, almost 22 thousand grams, " said Kombes Komarudin to reporters, Thursday, July 21.

Kombes Komarudin said the circulation was a Malaysia-Aceh-Medan-Jakarta network. He said as many as 30 bags of drugs were circulated from Malaysia to Aceh by boat, then from Aceh to Medan using the land route to SM.

"Out of the 30 bags, they have been divided into three groups, the first group took 3 packages, the second group took 5 packages to be distributed in Medan and Aceh, and SM received the most where they claimed to receive Rp. 10 million per bag," he said.

Furthermore, Kombes Komarudin said that SM's arrest was the result of the deepening of the arrests of the perpetrators DS (44) and M (47). From the arrest of the two perpetrators weighing 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine was recovered.

"They sent methamphetamine drugs by courier with the code 'bird of methamphetamine' and received them at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang. From there we managed to secure as much as 1 kilogram of methamphetamine or exactly 1,034.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine," he said.

The modus operandi of the perpetrators was to send drugs from Medan to Jakarta by putting them in clothes. The police chief said that from a number of suspects who had been arrested, two AD and HR actors were still being sought (DPO).

"The mode used so that it can get out of control, where M carries the item and tucked it in his body inside his shirt, so he took it out of the bag first and removed the items attached to his body," he said.

Furthermore, from these arrests, as many as 88 thousand people were saved. He said the 22 kilograms of methamphetamine was worth IDR 30.8 billion.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator is suspected of Article 114 paragraph 2 sub-article 112 paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a maximum penalty of death or imprisonment of 20 years.
