Joint Team For The Evacuation Of Miners Killed By KKB In The Bintang Mountains Of Papua

JAYAPURA - The victims of the murder of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Kawe Village, Awimbon District, Bintang Mountains, Papua, were evacuated by a joint Indonesian National Police-TNI team.

Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said the victims were evacuated by members using a chartered helicopter from an illegal mining site in Kawe Village, Awimbon District, Bintang Mountains Regency to Boven Digoel.

"Yesterday the victim was evacuated to Boven Digoel and then handed over to the family in Malind District, Merauke Regency for burial," said Kombes Kamal, quoted from a written statement, Thursday, July 20.

After arriving at the funeral home, the victim was not buried immediately. The new victim was buried today.

"The new victim was buried in the Malind District, Merauke Regency," he said.

Currently, Kombes Kamal continued, the Criminal Investigation Team of the Bintang Mountains Police has arrived in Boven Digoel to ask for statements from witnesses related to the investigation.

It was previously reported that a gold miner in an illegal mining in the Bintang Mountains was killed by KKB, Tuesday, July 19.

The victim, who was guarding the kiosk at the time, was suddenly approached by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and immediately carried out a sadistic murder.
