Russia Will Only Congratulate The Official President Of The US

JAKARTA - The Russian government is not yet willing to respond to Joe Biden's victory in the United States (US) election vote count. Russia said it would wait for the results of the lawsuit filed by Trump. Only official results Russia will respond to.

Launching Yeni Safak, Monday, November 9, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the waiting order was conveyed directly by President Vladimir Putin. The 270 electoral vote that Biden won, for Putin, is still not official.

Even so, Peskov stressed that Putin was ready to cooperate with anyone, be it Trump or Biden, as he had repeatedly said. Russia, said Peskov, is currently in a position to be ready to forge relations with the new US leader. Russia is eager to find a way to normalize relations between the two countries.

Since 2014, relations between Russia and the US have entered a post-cold war low. The trigger was when Russia tried to annex Crimea from Ukraine, at which time Biden was still serving as US Vice President for Barack Obama.

So far, Biden has won the electoral vote with achievements of 290 compared to Trump's 214. Biden was more than enough to hold the keys to the White House.

While major cities in the US celebrated Biden's victory, in other states, Trump's supporters reacted and denied the winning result of the Democratic presidential candidate. Not a few Trump supporters demonstrated and asked for a re-voting process and claimed that President Trump won.
