GARUT - The Garut Regency Government has dispatched a team to verify the data on houses affected by flash floods. This process will be the basis for the distribution of cash social assistance (bansos) from the government.

"There are five teams from Perkim (Housing and Settlement Service) who continue to verify and validate," said Garut Deputy Regent Helmi Budiman in Garut, West Java, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 20.

"The proposals from the sub-districts from the village, RT, RW have been submitted to the BPBD, from the BPBD we ask Perkim to verify and validate," he continued.

After the Garut Housing and Settlement Service has completed verifying and validating data on houses affected by the flood, the Garut Regional Government will distribute financial assistance.

The assistance starts from Rp. 500 thousand to Rp. 1 million. Distributed to residents whose houses are deemed worthy of receiving assistance from the government.

Helmi asked Garut regency officials in the field to ensure that the aid reaches the people who deserve to receive the benefits.

"Whoever is assigned to distribute this money to make it right on target, otherwise there will be law enforcement," said Helmi.

He said the handling of the impact of the disaster is still ongoing. The local government has deployed officers and deployed heavy equipment to clean up garbage and material left over from the flood.

"In some places that are really the worst, now thank God the mud has started to disappear, there is also thin in some places," he concluded.
