JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko asked the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) to follow up and investigate the case of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attack on civilians, in Nogolait village, Nduga district, Papua.

"The violence perpetrated by the KKB has resulted in fatalities. No one can deprive people of their right to life. For that, Komnas HAM must step in to ascertain whether there were human rights violations in that incident,” said Moeldoko, Wednesday, July 20.

Previously, Moeldoko also strongly condemned the KKB's cruel action which had killed dozens of civilians, of which two were religious figures. The 2013-2015 TNI Commander also said that the KKB action was a cruel and inhuman act.

KKB again carried out attacks on civilians, in Nduga Regency, Papua, on Saturday (16/7). This heinous act resulted in the death of eleven people, including religious leaders.
