JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, asked his members to monitor the process of making derivative regulations from Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation prepared by the government.

This was conveyed by Puan in the plenary meeting for the opening of the DPR's second session of 2020-2021 after the recess period.

"The implementation of Law No. 11/2020 on Job Creation still requires implementing regulations that require the attention of all relevant DPR RI Commissions," said Puan at the DPR building, Jakarta, Monday, November 9.

Puan said that the supervision of the making of government regulations as technical rules for the implementation of the Job Creation Law was an opportunity to socialize the benefits of the Omnibus Law amidst a number of community rejections.

"This is an opportunity to provide clarity on the benefits of the Job Creation Law for the people and at the same time ensure that the Law is implemented to achieve people's welfare, advance Indonesia, and build national strength in the economic sector," said Puan.

In addition to reminding the supervision of the derivative regulations of the Job Creation Law, Puan also said that the DPR has a number of strategic agendas to be resolved through the implementation of the legislative function, budget function, and supervisory function including the implementation of parliamentary diplomacy.

In implementing the legislative function during the Second Session Period of the 2020-2021 Session Year, the DPR will finalize the discussion of four draft laws at Level I Discussions.

One of the regulations that will be finalized is the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection (RUU PDP). The draft Personal Data Protection Bill (RUU PDP) was signed by Jokowi on January 24, 2020 and was continued by discussion by the DPR Legislation Body.

Apart from the PDP Bill, the DPR will also discuss the Draft Law on Archipelago Areas. Then, the Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 24 of 2007 concerning Disaster Management.

Then, the Bill on Ratification of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Indonesia and the EFTA States (Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the Republic of Indonesia and EFTA Countries).
