Two Perpetrators Of Begal Bicycles, Marine Officers Test Positive For Drugs

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya officials revealed that two perpetrators of robbery against a Marine cyclist, tested positive for drugs after a urine test.

"The two suspects are known to be positive for amphetamine type drugs," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol. Yusri Yunus at Mako Polda Metro Jaya, Saturday, November 7.

The suspect who tested positive for the amphetamine type drug was identified with the initials RHS (32) and RY (39). Both of them are known as residents who live in Senen, Central Jakarta.

When further questioned, the two admitted that they did not know that the victim who was caught on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat was a TNI officer.

"When they carried out the action yesterday they did not know it was a member of the TNI, if they did, they would not have the courage," said Yusri.

There were four people involved in the robbery action against the Marines. Two actors apart from RHS and RY are still in pursuit of the Jakarta Metro Police Anti-Begal Special Team.

"We did chase several other perpetrators," he said.

Currently, the two perpetrators have been named as suspects in a robbery case and are charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of seven years in prison.

The incident against Marine Colonel Pangestu Widiatmoko took place at Jalan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta on Monday, October 26.

At that time, the four perpetrators who were using two motorbikes took away Colonel Pangestu's cell phone, who was on a bicycle, causing the victim to fall and suffer injuries.
