JAKARTA - Member of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Mochammad Afifuddin said that during the 40 days of organizing the 2020 Pilkada campaign stages, his party had disciplined campaign props (APK) that were violating.

The control of the campaign props was carried out together with local civil service police units (Satpol PP) in 151 districts / cities.

"From our data, there were 164,536 campaign props that were ordered for violations," he said, in Jakarta, Friday night, November 6.

Among the violations found, APK was installed in a place where it was prohibited or the amount of APK was more than the amount allowed by the KPU. In fact, said Afifuddin, Bawaslu also found APKs that were installed outside the candidate pairs' constituency listed in the APK.

"However, Bawaslu appreciates that there are also some areas where there are no APK violations," he said.

In addition, Bawaslu also finds and takes action against violations in organizing face-to-face campaigns or limited meetings. According to him, the highest violation occurred in the fourth 10 days, from October 26 to November 4.

Afifuddin said the number of violations was obtained from 397 activities. The violations were found from 16,574 face-to-face campaign activities or limited meetings held during the fourth 10-day campaign period.

"Thus, the total number of health protocol violations on the 40 campaign days will be 1,315 cases," he said.

Bawaslu has taken action against these violations starting from issuing warning letters to dissolving the campaign. A warning letter was issued for 300 campaign activities.

In addition, 33 campaign activities were disbanded due to health protocol violations. The dissolution was carried out by both the election supervisor, Satpol PP and the police.
