Bandang Floods Swept Away Dozens Of Houses In Pati, Ganjar Ensures Residual Handling Of River Embankment Repairs

CENTRAL JAVA - Flash floods in Pati Regency caused dozens of houses to be swept away by the current. The Governor of Central Java (Central Java) Ganjar Pranowo confirmed that the only thing left to handle the flood was to repair the broken river embankment.

"So far, the flood-affected residents have been handled by the team in the field and accommodated in evacuation centers. With the levee being broken, I ask for a quick response, now, it must be fast," said Ganjar on the sidelines of a working visit in Brebes Regency, Central Java, quoted by Antara. from Antara, Friday 15 July.

The number one person in Central Java said that handling floods and repairing broken river embankments based on the existing maps was actually not too difficult because they only sent heavy equipment to the location.

"Actually, from the existing map it's not too difficult, just send the heavy equipment there. From BBWS yesterday it has gone down," he said.

According to Ganjar, the principle of handling disasters like what happened in Pati Regency can basically be done first by local government officials, but if they cannot overcome or experience obstacles, the Provincial Government has prepared a team to provide assistance.

"The principle is that if the province is working in the district first. If it's not ready, we will prepare a team to back up, but it's related to heavy equipment and so on. Yesterday we communicated and they have been working for three days. including when dealing with refugees," he said.

The team that was deployed to the field has also moved quickly to deal with flash floods in Pati Regency.

In addition to evacuating residents to refugee camps, the team in the field also cleaned public facilities and roads so that access to repairs of broken embankments ran smoothly.

Head of the Central Java BPBD Emergency Management Division, Dikki Rulli Perkasa, added that efforts to deal with flooding in Pati Regency were carried out synergistically.

According to him, the handling is now centered in two affected villages, namely Bulumanis Kidul Village and Tunjungrejo Village, while other affected areas have been handled.

The targets for handling are social facilities, public facilities, houses for residents and road access in the two villages.

The handling was also assisted by five regencies around Pati Regency, while for cleaning efforts a total of 12 tankers were deployed from Jepara, Demak, Kudus, Grobogan and Rembang as well as from Pati Regency.

"In the villages of Tunjungrejo and Bulumanis Kidul, today it has moved. The pattern for immediate handling of heavy equipment, sand bags from BBWS and the Central Java Province PSDA, for filling sand and soil from the Pati DPU. For houses affected by flooding, Baznas Pati is ready with data support from the sub-district head," he said.

In addition, the Pati Health Office was asked to actively go to the field and provide health services for residents, including inspections and providing vitamin support for flood-affected residents. Meanwhile, the Social Service also came down to ensure that the logistics for the next three days were met.

As reported, the flash flood that occurred in Pati Regency in the early hours of Thursday, July 14, caused dozens of residents' houses to be swept away by the flood currents.

Dozens of houses were washed away by flash floods in Margoyoso District, namely in Bulumanis Kidul Village there were 13 houses and 12 houses in Tunjungrejo Village, while the houses of residents in Sekarjalak Village only suffered minor damage.

To meet the food and drink needs of flood victims, the Pati Regency Government has prepared a public kitchen near their respective village halls.

In addition, currently there is also a supply of food and drink needs from PMI Pati, volunteers, communities, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Pati Social Service as well as a number of other parties.
