Head Of BNPT: Deradicalization Program In Malang Begins To Bear Results

JAKARTA - The deradicalization program for the Integrated Archipelago Area (KTN) based on community welfare initiated by the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) in Turen, Malang Regency has begun to produce results in the form of a corn harvest. "KTN Turen has an area of 13.5 hectares. For this first harvest produces 80 tons of corn," said the Head of BNPT Commissioner General (Komjen) Police Boy Rafli Amar in a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday July 15. Komjen Boy said that land cultivation was carried out by deradicalization partners and the local community in the hope of being a means of preventing terrorism, as well as social reintegration for deradicalization partners. He is optimistic that KTN Turen will not only become a center for prevention and deradicalization, but also become part of food security and the driving force of the economy in the region through the Artha Harmoni Cooperative. In the future, the production will be even greater," he said he. KTN Turen is the result of collaboration between BNPT and Malang Regency Government, Malang Islamic University (Unisma), PT Kereta Api Indonesia, the community and a number of other agencies. "KTN Turen was established with the aim of welfare-based deradicalization," he said.

In line with that, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Harvick Hasnul Qolbi said that as one of BNPT's partners, the ministry also supports operations by providing assistance. The assistance is in the form of three units of two-wheel tractors, two units of water pumps, two units of hand sprayers, and one unit of cultivator. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture also provides various types of plant seeds to enrich varieties in the Turen KTN land. "The government provides full support in efforts to maintain food security and even food sovereignty," he said. by BNPT.
