Coordinating Minister For PMK Ensures Government Accelerates Formulation Of Derivative Regulations For The TPKS Law

MADIUN - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said the government is currently accelerating the preparation of derivative regulations from the Act on the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS), which has just been passed.

"Now we are accelerating the derivative regulation, the Government Regulation (PP). With the derivative regulation, it will make it easier to take action against perpetrators of sexual violence," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 14.

According to him, the preparation of derivative regulations from TPKS aims to deal with sexual violence widely, including in educational institutions, which is currently rife.

In addition to formulating derivative rules, his party together with related institutions also tightened supervision on the activities of educational institutions in order to prevent acts of sexual violence targeting students or students so that similar cases do not recur.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture is very concerned about cases of sexual violence that occurred at the Jombang Shiddiqiyyah Islamic Boarding School and the Batu City SPI High School. He assessed that the case occurred because of the power relationship between educators and students. The attitude of the power of attorney certainly burdens the victim to report the case to law enforcement officers.

Muhadjir is optimistic that this situation will disappear over time when the derivative regulations of the TPKS Law are published.

"Hopefully in the not too distant future, we can immediately use the law and its derivative products to prevent TPKS," said Muhadjir.

In addition to inaugurating the Muhammadiyah MI College complex and Muhammadiyah Middle School in Caruban, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir also planted trees in a movement to plant 10 million trees on the Sebelas Maret University campus in Caruban, Madiun Regency.
