BANDA ACEH - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Aceh Representative stated that three cases of gross human rights violations that occurred in Tanah Rencong had been submitted to the Attorney General as an investigator for further action.
"Of the five cases of gross human rights violations in Aceh, we have submitted three of them to the Attorney General," said the head of the National Human Rights Commission for Aceh, Sepriady Utama, in Banda Aceh, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 14.
Sepriady mentioned three cases of gross human rights violations that had been submitted to the Attorney General, namely the incident at the Simpang KKA (Simpang Kraft) North Aceh, the Rumoh (Rumah) Geudong incident in Pidie Regency, and the Jambo Keupok incident in South Aceh Regency.
Meanwhile, two other cases of gross human rights violations have not been resolved, namely the incident in Bener Meriah Regency and the shooting case in Bumi Flora, East Aceh Regency.
"For cases of gross human rights violations, all of them are old cases, during the last Aceh conflict," he said.
Sepriady said that Komnas HAM through an ad hoc team had carried out a projustitia investigation process, then the results of the investigation were submitted to the Attorney General in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 26 of 2000 concerning the Human Rights Court.
"In accordance with the laws and regulations, the results of the investigation into allegations of gross human rights violations in Aceh, we submit to the Attorney General and then the task of the Attorney General," he also said.
Sepriady said that cases of gross human rights violations must be synergized with the courts and revealing the truth through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
"The involvement of the TRC is important because not all cases are processed through the courts, but there is also the disclosure of the truth which ends with reconciliation," said Sepriady Utama.
