South Sumatran Buddhist Leaders Meet Ganjar Pranowo During A Pilgrimage To Borobudur Temple

JAKARTA - 50 Buddhist figures from South Sumatra will carry out Dharma Yatra activities at Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, from Tuesday 13 July to Thursday 14 July. They are members of the People of Harmony group.

Coordinator of Harmony Figures, Cik Harun, said the activity was carried out in order to support the program of four ministries and two provinces, to realize Borobudur Temple as a religious tourism.

"We are here, sir, also to support the program of the four ministers and two governors, making Borobudur Temple a religious tourism area, and there is an activity in our religion called Dharma Yatra," said Cik Harun.

Cik Harun explained that Dharmayatra is an activity to visit places related to the truth of Dharma. Borobudur became one of the relics of the Buddhists who were chosen to carry out this activity.

"From this opportunity, we came here for dharmayatra religious tourism to the sites of Borobudur Temple, which has declared a place of worship for Buddhism and Hinduism for Indonesia and the world," said Cik Harun.

Cik Harun also appreciated the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo who gave an extraordinary welcome to their presence. Cik Harun hopes that his visit will trigger the arrival of other Buddhists, to be able to worship directly at the largest temple in the world.

"Hopefully this is our first group, and later there will be a second and third," he said.

Governor Ganjar Pranowo thanked the presence of religious moderation figures from South Sumatra Province to Central Java. Their presence, said Ganjar, is a form of optimizing the use of places of worship, especially in Central Java.

"This makes our Indonesian atmosphere feel, because they can visit each other and have a positive impact," said Ganjar in a written statement from the Central Java Provincial Government.
