Profile Of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Head Of The Propam Division Was Involved In Handling Cyanide Coffee Cases To The Thamrin Bombing

JAKARTA - A shootout between members of the police took place at the official residence of the Head of the Profession and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) of the National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Friday, July 8 afternoon.

So far, the South Jakarta Metro Police have examined three witnesses related to the shooting exchange between Inspector General Sambo's aide, Bharada E, and Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias J.

Brigadier J is known to be at the location, serving as a driver for Inspector General Sambo's wife, Putri Ferdy Sambo. He was shot dead by Bharada E.

At the time of the incident, Inspector General Sambo was not at home undergoing a PCR test.

Ferdy Sambo is known to be a graduate of the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1994. He is currently the youngest Inspector General in the National Police.

Ferdy Sambo was 48 years old when he was appointed Head of the Propam Police Division with two stars on his shoulders.

The man who was born on February 9, 1973 is experienced in the field of detectives. He had served as Kasat V Ranmor of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya in 2009.

His name was increasingly recognized when he served as Chief of the Brebes Resort Police (Kapolres) Central Java in 2013, after serving as Kapolres Purbalingga in 2012 and Kasat Reskrim Polres West Jakarta in 2010.

Ferdy Sambo was then promoted to Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Wadirreskrimum) of the Polda Metro Jaya in 2015.

In 2016, Ferdy Sambo was promoted to the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim). He returned to wrestling in the investigation world, serving as Head of Sub-Directorate IV of Dittipidum and then Head of Sub-Directorate of III.

In 2016, Ferdy Sambo was also involved in handling the suicide bombing case in the Sarinah area, Thamrin, Central Jakarta. He also investigated a high-profile case that occurred in the same month in January 2016, namely the "cyanide coffee" murder case with the suspect Jessica.

Two years later, as a young middle-aged Bhayangkara Corps officer, Ferdy Sambo was entrusted with the responsibility of being the Chief of the National Police Spripim or the Koorspripim of the Police.

Ferdy Sambo was then trusted again in the detective section. He was appointed as Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department. Until finally he was trusted to serve as the Head of the Propam Police Division in 2020.

While serving as the Head of the Propam Division, Ferdy Sambo was also involved in handling cases of issuing forged travel documents and COVID-19 examination certificates with the suspect Djoko Tjandra.
