Adian Napitupulu Promises To Guard The AIA Bankruptcy Case To Commission XI DPR

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian Parliament, Adian Napitupulu, received an audience from a former marketing agent for the insurance company PT AIA Financial, who filed a bankruptcy suit at the Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court.

On this occasion, Adian promised to present the case to his colleagues at Commission XI to be followed up. He also asked the company to complete its obligations to the applicants.

He considered that this case could not be taken lightly. The reason is, if left unchecked it can destroy the image of the country's insurance industry.

Moreover, the current level of public trust in the world of insurance is decreasing due to the number of insurance companies experiencing defaults.

"This problem should not be underestimated by the victims' legal steps. After all, customers, insurance workers are the people who must be protected," said Adian in a statement received on Thursday, November 5.

This PDIP politician is of the view that saving people's lives is far more important than saving one or two shareholders.

He also commented on the AIA statement which stated that the company's financial condition was in a stable and healthy state. For Adian, these claims cannot be used as a guarantee. However, he continued, the company must complete its obligations to the applicant.

"This is not a guarantee, not a solution to the victims' problems. The best step is to settle the problem by sitting down with the victims and completing the obligations," he added.

For this reason, Adian hopes that the mediation process between the company and the agents who feel they are disadvantaged can be held soon. Not only that, he even considered the number of similar cases due to the slow attitude taken by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
