Invite Indonesian High-ranking Officers To Say About Shinzo Abe's Death, Fahri Hamzah: The Death Of A 67-year-old Senior Politician In The Hand Of A 41-year-old Youth

JAKARTA - Former Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Shinzo Abe died after a shooting incident today. Gelora Party politician Fahri Hamzah mourns.

The former deputy chairman of the DPR also invited government officials in the country to express their sympathy for the departure of one of the former leaders of the G20 member countries.

"We mourn and hope that Indonesian leaders will send sympathy and condolences for the killing of a 67-year-old senior Japanese politician in the hands of a 41-year-old youth," Fahri wrote on his Twitter account, @Fahrihamzah, Friday, July 8.

Fahri admitted that Indonesia's relationship with Japan during the Asia Pacific War was very bad. Indonesia is an area of operation as well as a colonized country.

However, the past was put aside. Fahri expressed his sadness over Abe's loss as experienced by other Japanese citizens.

"I follow the wounds of the Japanese people. Even though we were victims of the Pacific war when Japan landed and made our country the basis of the struggle against the West with all the wounds on us; forced planting, slavery and other humanitarian tragedy," he said.

According to Fahri, Indonesia's diplomatic relations with Japan are not like before. The two countries work together in various sectors to meet their respective domestic needs.

The hope of synergy with Japan is also increasingly wide open as Indonesia hosts the G20 event in Bali in November. Moreover, one of the agendas of the multilateral cooperation forum consisting of 20 countries is the recovery of the global economy from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"But the fact is that we are so close now. And we see the hope of great cooperation in front of our eyes. Indonesia's leadership in the G20 event must be successful. Japan is a close friend, so we wish Abe San our condolences and goodbye," said Fahri.
