Political Party Aid Fund In Bogor Increased To IDR 2,500 Per Vote, Totaling IDR 5.85 Billion

BOGOR - The government of Bogor Regency, West Java through the National unity and Political Agency (Bakesbangpol) has increased the portion of financial assistance funds for political parties in 2022, to IDR 5.85 billion.

 

"The political party grant for this year, originally Rp1,500 per vote, is now Rp2,500 per vote. There is an increase of Rp1,000 per vote, which is in accordance with the existing provisions," said the Head of Bakesbangpol Bogor Regency, Bambang Widodo Tawekal in Cibinong Bogor as reported from Antara, Thursday, July 7.

 

The value of IDR 5.85 billion is the result of a multiplication between IDR 2,500 and the number of votes of political parties that won seats in the results of the 2019 Legislative Election, which was 2,341,973 votes.

 

Bambang said that each political party gets a nominal amount of financial assistance, according to each vote. The highest was the Gerindra Party with 570,658 votes. Then, at least the Hanura Party with 61,111 votes.

 

"Each party is different (nominally). Most in us (Bogor Regency) Gerindra. In total, there are nine parties that get it," explained Bambang.

 

Before experiencing a nominal increase this year, the Bogor Regency Government budgeted only around IDR 3.5 billion for the nine political parties in 2021.

 

The financial assistance funds can be disbursed by each political party every year by pocketing recommendations from the General Election Commission (KPU) of Bogor Regency.

 

Bambang hopes that the nominal increase can be used by political parties to increase voter participation at every democratic party event.

 

The reason is, Bakesbangpol Bogor Regency is intensively carrying out political education, the target is novice voters, with the hope of making them smart and qualified voters.

 

 

"We are speakers from KPU, Bawaslu, practitioners and academic friends. The direction is to increase political participation," Bambang said.
