JAKARTA - Support for the two candidates in the presidential election (Pilpres) of the United States (US) from various parts of the world has flowed profusely. In India, both Joe Biden and Donald Trump are getting huge support.

Joe Biden gets a lot of support from his deputy ancestral village, Kamala Harris. Meanwhile, Trump has the support of fringe groups.

Launched by Reuters, Tuesday, November 3, support for Kamala Harris flowed profusely, because the US vice presidential candidate has thick Indian blood. For this reason, a few hours earlier before the US presidential election started, people living in Harris's grandfather village of Thulasendrapuram gathered at a temple to perform a special prayer.

One of the entrepreneurs from Thulasendrapuram, RR Kalidas Vandayar then distributed food to more than 150 people as a form of solidarity. The effort was carried out in hopes of Harris's steps to become number two in the US.

"He is from here and we are proud of him," said Vandayar's brother, RR Jayakumar Vandayar.

Meanwhile, Biden's rival, Trump, is hailed for the support of five million Indian Hindus. Trump is so popular that a local politician has performed a ritual of empowerment, a ritual to give Trump a blessing to be re-elected as US president.

Not only that, a group of masses who call themselves the Hindu Sena (Hindu Army) in the north of Delhi also joined in to support Trump. They appear to be wearing robes to perform fire rituals and sing the words for Trump's victory.

"India can fight terrorism only if Trump is present, and both China and Pakistan will remain under control as long as he is president," said Hindu Sena founder Wisnu Gupta.

"We hope Harris is well because he is of Indian descent, but the vice president is not that strong," he added.
