JAKARTA - The police have carried out a ballistic test for a projectile found in the shooting case of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani in Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua. But the ballistic test results have not come out so the firearm used by the shooter has not been identified.
"Yes (ballistic tests have been carried out) it is still in process," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Tuesday, November 3.
However, Awi said that based on the results of the crime scene (TKP), dozens of gunshot marks were found around the scene or near the pig pen. But only one projectile was found.
"If from the TKP, from the numbering, there are about 13 marks, the gunshot holes are 13. Including the body concerned," said Awi.
Later, a team of investigators from the Papua Regional Police will carry out a reconstruction to ensure there is a connection between the dozens of gunshot holes and the case of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani.
"Everything must be in the reconstruction scene," he said.
The police have yet to conclude the cause and motive behind the case. The investigation is still ongoing.
"Until now, it is still under development, we are both waiting for the direction," he said.
Pastor Yeremia's death last September with a gunshot wound to his body caused a polemic due to disagreements between the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and the TNI.
KKB accused the TNI of having made Yeremia die with a gunshot wound to her body, while the TNI actually called KKB responsible for the incident.
