JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) said the charity Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) has not been included in the List of Suspected Terrorism or Terrorism Organizations (DTTOT). Thus, a deeper study must be carried out regarding the flow of funds from the institution which is indicated to lead to prohibited activities.

"Currently, ACT has not been included in the List of Suspected Terrorism or Terrorism Organizations (DTTOT)," said BNPT Prevention Director Brigadier General Ahmad Nurwakhid when confirmed, Wednesday, July 6.

According to him, the data provided by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) is intelligence data. Thus, it requires further study and deepening to ensure the link with terrorism financing.

If the results of the investigation are proven to lead to terrorism, of course, action will be taken immediately. However, otherwise, a different treatment will be applied.

"If the suspicious flow of funds is proven to lead to the financing of terrorism, legal action will be taken by the National Police Anti-Terror Detachment 88. If not, law enforcement officials will coordinate with other criminal acts," he said.

Apart from that, BNPT asked the public to be more careful when making humanitarian donations. Especially, it is advisable to choose the official channels provided by the government.

"Learning from the ACT case, BNPT appeals to the entire community to distribute donations, infaq and alms to official and credible institutions that have been recommended by the government," said Nurwakhid.

For information, ACT is a humanitarian organization that collects donations to help others who are affected by disasters or calamities.

However, recently there has been an issue that ACT has misused the budget. In fact, it is used for the personal interests of its leaders.
