TNI Commander Supports Ikahan SAG Strengthen Indonesia-Australia Relations

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa expressed his support for the Indonesia-Australia Defense Alumni Association (Ikahan) Senior Advisory Group (SAG) which will strengthen diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia, particularly maritime diplomacy.

"Friendship is very important. In my opinion, friendship with anyone is important, especially with neighboring countries. Neighbors are the most important. I can only entrust good luck," Andika was quoted as saying by ANTARA from General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube channel, Tuesday, July 5.

Ikahan SAG visited the TNI Commander Andika Perkasa to convey what activities will be carried out by Ikahan SAG when visiting Australia, one of which is to see and learn how Australia's maritime diplomacy is.

According to Andika, this working visit is important to support the creation of strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia.

Andika also emphasized his full support for the visit to be carried out by Ikahan SAG as a form of good relations between countries, and appealed to Ikahan SAG to strengthen friendly relations between Indonesia and Australia in the maritime field.

"Anyway, good luck. Later, we will be given information about the results, what stands out," he said.

During the meeting, TNI Admiral (Ret.) Marsetio as the representative of Ikahan SAG revealed that Ikahan SAG's visit to Australia was also aimed at exploring geopolitical dynamics in the maritime sector.

Through the visit, the former Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy hopes that Indonesia can also improve maritime defense and establish closer cooperation with Australia.

"The material for each SAG Ikahan activity changes, as well as geopolitical and geomaritime dynamics," said Marsetio.
