MAMUJU - President Joko Widodo's sacrificial cow weighing 1,027 kilograms will be distributed to the community in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi, during Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijriah.

Head of the West Sulawesi Food Crops, Horticulture and Livestock Service Muchtar, at a meeting discussing the presidential sacrificial cattle with the Acting Governor of West Sulawesi Akmal Malik, said the 1,027 kilogram cow was bought for Rp. 105 million from a farmer in Polewali Mandar Regency.

"Two days before Eid al-Adha, the sacrificial cow from President Joko Widodo will be brought to Mamuju," Muchtar said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 5.

"We want equality so that this year it will be distributed at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque, Mamuju," he added.

Currently, he continued, the sacrificial cow from President Joko Widodo was quarantined by farmers in Kebun Sari Village, Wonomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency.

He guarantees that the condition of the cow is ensured to be free from Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD).

"The team also continues to monitor the condition and carry out routine health checks," said Muchtar.

Muchtar also hopes that this will be a motivation for local farmers so that in the future their cattle can be chosen as the presidential sacrificial cattle.

"This is a motivation for farmers in this area to improve the quality of their livestock so that in the future their cattle can be chosen as the presidential sacrificial cattle," he said.
