Police Secure Man Who Fired Guns During Inauguration Of Village Head In Deli Serdang, Not A Suspect

MEDAN - Video footage of a car driver shooting his firearm into the air has gone viral on social media. The cowboy action was carried out by the car driver during the inauguration of the village head (Kades) in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

The video initially shows the situation of the assembled community. Then, several convoy cars entered the inauguration location.

But suddenly, a motorist pulled out his gun and fired several times into the air.

The Head of the Percut Sei Tuan Police, Kompol M Agustiawan, said the incident occurred on Friday, May 20, during the inauguration of the Kades Cinta Damai, Percut Sei Tuan District.

Kompol Agustiawan explained that his party had secured and investigated a man with the initials PS, who was suspected of being the owner of an air soft gun, Sunday, July 3, evening.

"Based on the results of the examination, PS admitted that when he fired his weapon into the air it was spontaneous because of the victory of the Cinta Damai Village Head," said Kompol Agustiawan when confirmed by VOI, Monday, July 4.

From the results of the examination, he said, PS already had a permit for the possession of the weapon. In addition, PS was not named a suspect by the police even though he had fired his gun in the air in front of many people.

"Not a suspect, because he didn't hurt and it wasn't a firearm, but an airsoft gun. So he just underwent an examination because this is what I usually call a prominent case," he said.

In examining PS, the police coordinated with the manager who issued the airsoft gun permit. In particular, regarding the mechanism for using airsoft guns and permits issued.

"PS said that his air soft gun is related because he has a restaurant business and often goes out in the morning to shop for ingredients," he said.

"Currently, the air soft gun has been secured. The person concerned is also still being examined along with the witnesses who know about the incident," he said.
