Luhut Asks For An Extended Socialization Period For Using The PeduliLindung Application To Buy Cooking Oil

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut B. Pandjaitan requested an extension of the socialization period regarding the purchase of cooking oil using the PeduliLindung application. Until now, the socialization of the use of the Peduli Protect application for people who want to buy People's Bulk Cooking Oil (MGCR) at official retailers that have been registered in the SIMIRAH 2.0 and PUJLE applications is also still running.

However, there are still many retailers who have not downloaded the QR Code Peduli Protect. For this reason, Coordinating Minister Luhut asked for an extended socialization period.

“I also asked for the transition period and the socialization of the use of Care to Protect, which was 2 weeks before, could be extended for 3 months. We must understand the adaptation process that is still needed by our friends in the field," said Coordinating Minister Luhut in an official statement, Saturday, July 2.

During the extension of this socialization period, said Luhut, people can still buy MGCR without having to show their NIK. However, the Government hopes that retailers and buyers can start using and familiarize themselves with the use of Peduli Protect in the MGCR buying and selling process. For this reason, retailers will be encouraged to immediately print a QR Code Peduli Protect via SIMIRAH 2.0 or PUJLE and paste it at the point of sale.

Previously, the Government started the transition to changes in the sales and purchase system of people's bulk cooking oil (MGCR) using the PeduliLindung application.

Purchases of MGCR at the consumer level will be limited to a maximum of 10 kilograms (kg) for one NIK per day and guaranteed to be obtained at the highest retail price, which is IDR 14,000 per liter or IDR 15,500 per kg.

"MGCR at this price can be obtained at sellers/retailers who are officially registered in the Simirah 2.0 program and also through Logistics and Retail Service Business Actors (PUJLE), namely Food and Savory Stalls," said Luhut.

Furthermore, Luhut said, the government made efforts to change this system to provide certainty of the availability and affordability of cooking oil prices for all levels of society.

According to Luhut, the use of PeduliLindungi functions as a monitoring and supervision tool in the field to mitigate fraud in various places and can lead to scarcity and increase in cooking oil prices.

The government, continued Luhut, has also made various efforts to respond to the chaotic cooking oil prices that have occurred since a few months ago. Some of the steps taken are starting to bear fruit with the decline in the price of bulk cooking oil in several areas.
