JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and their entourage departed for the country from Abu Dhabi International Airport, United Arab Emirates (PEA)/UAE.
Reported by Antara, Friday, July 1, the President and Mrs. Iriana were released by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the PEA Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroei, the Indonesian Ambassador to the PEA Husin Bagis and his wife, and the PEA Ambassador to Indonesia Abdullah Aldhaheri.
President Jokowi and his entourage took off at around 19.10 local time using the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft. It is estimated to arrive on Saturday (2/7) morning at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, in Tangerang, Banten.
Also accompanying President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana Jokowi on the flight to Indonesia, were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
Prior to visiting the PEA, President Jokowi attended the G7 Summit in Elmau, Germany, then visited Kyiv, Ukraine for a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, then met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia.
At the PEA, President Jokowi held a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The two also witnessed the exchange of documents for the Indonesia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IUAE-CEPA) at the Al Shatie Palace, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The IUAE-CEPA Cooperation Agreement which was signed by both parties on Friday (1/7) was exchanged with other memorandums of understanding, namely:
1. Memorandum of Understanding for Joint Project Management on Mangroves between the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates.
2. Protocol to Amend the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates on Maritime and Fishery Cooperation.
3. Memorandum of Understanding between the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates on the control of vaccines and drugs.
4. Protocol on Cooperation in the Defense Industry and Procurement of Military Equipment.
5. Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between Nahdlatul Ulama University and Mohammed bin Zayed University of Humanity.
6. Landing Platform Dock (LPD) Purchase Contract between PT PAL Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates Navy.
