PAPUA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Jayapura, Papua, said that the supply of fuel oil (BBM) is still sufficient and there is no shortage in the area.

Assistant I for the Economy and Development of the Jayapura City Secretariat, Widi Hartanti, said that the fuel stock was still available for the next three weeks.

"We have met with PT Pertamina on June 30, 2022 and they confirmed that the fuel stock in Jayapura City is still available for the next 18 days," he said in a press release received by Antara in Jayapura, Friday, July 1.

According to Widi, previously his party received complaints from the public if the queues of vehicles at each Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) interfered with community activities which resulted in student delays to school due to traffic jams.

"However, we have discussed this issue and the results have been mutually agreed upon regarding service hours for refueling diesel fuel, specifically for dump trucks, at 15.00-22.00 WIT," he said.

He explained that his party also appealed to the public not to worry about the information being spread regarding the scarcity of fuel.

"In the future, we will socialize to the residents of Jayapura City that the fuel stock is still safe," he said.

He added that his party hopes that the public can understand the queues of dump trucks that occur at gas stations because many development projects in Jayapura City are increasing, causing congestion.
