Demonstration Workers Reject Job Creation Law, Jokowi Offices At The Jakarta Palace

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continued his activities at the State Palace, Jakarta when the demonstration against the Omnibus Law of the Work Creation Law took place in the area of the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

"Today the President's activities are scheduled at the State Palace. There are several activities," said Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono when contacted by VOI, Monday, November 2.

From the information gathered, President Jokowi is scheduled to give a briefing at the Plenary Cabinet Session at 13.30 WIB.

When asked whether or not President Jokowi or the palace had planned to meet the demonstrators, Heru said there might be representatives who would meet thousands of demonstrators. But there was no mention of the representative in question.

"Maybe a representative will be appointed," he said.

The latest condition in the area of Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat at 12.40 WIB, the protesters were still listening to the speech from the President of KSPI Said Iqbal from the top of the command car.

From the top of the command car, Said emphasized that the workers were ready to carry out a strike action if their demands, namely the cancellation of the Omnibus Law Cipta Law, were not carried out and the 2021 UMP was not raised.

"If the government does not raise wages and does not cancel the Omnibus Law, I would like to call for a national strike to be carried out throughout Indonesia," said Said Iqbal from the top of the command car.

"The effect of the strike is a stop of production. We will issue official instructions, without fear of fear, asking for two weeks our factory friends, members of the KSPSI, KSPI, thousands of factories, we will instruct them for two weeks," he added.
