Meeting With President Jokowi, Vladimir Putin Says Russia Is Ready To Export 50 Million Tons Of Wheat

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia was ready to export 50 million tons of wheat this year, when he received a visit from Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Thursday.

It is known that President Jokowi is currently in Russia to continue the peace mission, after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, yesterday.

Today, President Jokowi visited President Putin at the Kremlin, after traveling by plane from Poland.

"Last year Russia supplied more than 40 million tons of unhulled rice to the international market, and this year we will be ready to supply around 50 million tons," President Putin said when meeting President Jokowi, launching Interfak, Thursday, June 30.

One of President Jokowi's concerns in his series of visits to Ukraine and Russia is to ease conflicts and restore food supply chains that were disrupted by the war.

"The war must stop and those related to the food supply chain must be reactivated," said President Jokowi before leaving the country last Sunday.

As previously reported, the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft landed smoothly at Vnukovo II Airport at around 11.00 local time. The clear skies of Moscow City welcomed the arrival of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana.

President Jokowi arrived in Russia, Thursday, June 30, 2022. The day before, Jokowi had just met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Maryinsky Palace, Kyiv.

After the plane door opened, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana got off the plane and were greeted by Russian Federation officials including the Head of State Protocol of the Russian Federation Igor Viktorovich Bogdashev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov as quoted from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat.

In addition, the Indonesian Ambassador to Moscow, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, and his wife and the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow, Colonel Budi Susilo and his wife, also welcomed.
