Police: KPK Fugitive Surya Darmadi's Red Notice Has Been Issued Since 2020

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that Surya Darmadi, the owner of PT Duta Palma Group who was involved in the alleged corruption case in land management in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau, has been registered as an international fugitive. In fact, the red notice has been published since 2020.

"The person concerned has been on the red notice list since August 13, 2020," said Secretary of the NCB Interpol Polri Brigadier General Amur Chandra when confirmed, Thursday, June 30.

This red notice is an attempt to find Surya Darmadi's whereabouts. In the process, all countries that are members of Interpol will help.

However, when asked about the possibility of Surya Darmadi having changed his nationality, Amur could not comment. The reason is related to the authority of the Directorate General of General Legal Administration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"As long as the suspect still holds an Indonesian passport, the suspect remains an Indonesian citizen," said Amur.

For information, PT Duta Palma Group manages forest areas into oil palm plantations covering an area of 37,095 hectares without rights and against the law. This causes losses to the country's economy.

Then, in handling this case, the owner of PT Duta Palma Group is still being sought. In fact, it has been included in the wanted list (DPO) published by the KPK.
