After Being Questioned By The KPK, Gamawan Fauzi Admits He Doesn't Know Paulus Tannos

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Gamawan Fauzi admitted that he did not know the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, Paulus Tannos.

This confession was conveyed by Gamawan after being questioned by investigators regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of e-KTP today, Wednesday, June 29. He also said he did not know the whereabouts of the businessman.

"No. How do I know where Tannos is. I've never met him," Gamawan told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 29.

"Since before the tender (E-KTP) until now, we have never met," he continued.

Meanwhile, regarding today's examination, Gamawan admitted that he had confirmed several things. Including his communication with one of the former members of the DPR RI who was also involved in this case, Miryam S. Haryani.

The investigator, continued Gamawan, asked about his introduction to the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Hanura Faction for the 2014-2019 period.

"Ask to know, have you met or not, there is communication or not. That's all," he said.

It was previously reported that Gamawan was being questioned as a witness for the suspect Paulus Tannos.

For information, this corruption case in the procurement of e-KTP has cost the state up to Rp. 2.3 trillion when referring to the report from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

This case dragged the names of a number of high-ranking officials in the ministry, such as the former Director General of Civil Registration and Civil Registration Irman and a former official at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Sugiharto.

In addition, there are also the names of the former chairman of the DPR, Setya Novanto, and the former member of Commission III of the DPR, Markus Nari. The KPK last named four new suspects in the e-KTP case in August 2020.

They are former members of Commission II DPR Hanura Party Fraction Miryam S Haryani, President Director of the Republic of Indonesia Printing Press (PNRI) and Chairman of the PNRI Consortium Isnu Edhi Wijaya, Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of KTP Husni Fahmi, and President Director of PT Sandipala Arthaputra, Paulus Tanos.
