JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party faction of the DPR Rl urged the government to review the increase in fees for the Social Security Administering Bodies (BPJS) for Health, especially for class III. This decision is considered burdensome to the community.

Responding to this, Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto said answers related to the Gerindra faction's proposal regarding a review of the decision to increase BPJS class III dues, will be delivered at a working meeting with Commission IX next week.

"For class III decisions there will be a hearing with the DPR working meetings on Monday, the decisions are there," he said, when met at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, January 17.

According to Terawan, his party together with Commission IX will listen to the views of BPJS first, after which a new decision will be made.

"Because of that the recommendations given to be followed up by BPJS. Because the decision at the work meeting is that we want to hear what BPJS wants to answer there," he explained.

A member of Commission IX from the Gerindra Faction, Putih Sari, asked the government to find other ways to cover the deficit of BPJS Kesehatan. However, according to him, it was not by increasing the premium rate.

"This increase will burden the people even more. The government [should] seek other ways to cover the BPJS Health deficit by involving local governments, the private sector, including opening up the potential for philanthropic funds," he said.

Putih said, if indeed the increase was unavoidable, then his party would propose three alternative schemes to deal with the increase in BPJS Health contributions. First, some participants who are not able to receive wages (PBPU) class III should be admitted to Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI).

Second, continued Putih, if it is not possible to enter PBI, part of it will be temporarily sought for philanthropic funds to finance the increase in contributions.

Then, third, the Government is asked to provide an understanding so that PBPU participants who do not want to pay an increase but are able to still have to pay.

"This needs to be done to cover the deficit in PBPU and also for PBI funds," he explained.

White explained, the reason why he recommended the alternative scheme. According to him, this departs from a moral responsibility to fight for what society needs. Because, health is part of the basic needs of society.

"We know that since the implementation of this JKN has provided many benefits to public health services. So that in the future we really want this program to continue. So that it can provide a wider reach to the community," he said.

Putih also explained that the Gerindra Faction gave these alternative recommendations as an effort to improve national health insurance for all Indonesian people.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the BPJS based on the SJSN Law and the BPJS Law number 24 of 2011 clearly only has four tasks.

Its four tasks are to receive contribution registration, collect contributions, receive government assistance and manage social security funds for the benefit of participants, and pay benefits and provide information to the public.

"We have to prepare everything perfectly. In this case we as law implementers will obey the existing regulations and laws. Hopefully the JKN program can continue to be sustainable, to create a better society in terms of basic life and health needs," he said. .
