Governor Anies' Decision To Change The Name Of Jakarta Streets Makes 5,637 Residents Obliged To Change Their ID Cards

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) explained that 5,637 residents were affected by the change in street names on their Identity Cards (KTP).

"We have coordinated with the Directorate General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the availability of electronic ID cards and Child Identity Cards (KIA)," said Head of DKI Dukcapil Agency Budi Awaluddin in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 28.

Even so, his party has prepared around 50 thousand blank ID cards.

To accommodate public services who wish to change the address column on their KTP and KIA, the DKI Provincial Government carried out a "pick-up" action in six DKI areas on Wednesday (29/6).

Budi explained that every day his party will conduct a random mobile service.

He asked his subordinates to provide quick service to residents for the basic needs of population administration documents.

On the other hand, he also hopes that the public will take advantage of the free service.

In accordance with Governor's Decree Number 565 of 2022 concerning the Determination of Street, Building and Zone Names with the Names of Betawi and Jakarta Figures, there are 22 new street names with names derived from Betawi figures.

The change in the street with the name of the Betawi figure, has an impact on the change in the address column on the KTP, KIA and Family Card.
