To Be Inaugurated As Deputy Chairperson Of The MPR, Yandri Susanto: Substitute Chairperson Of Commission VIII DPR From The Eastern Region

JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR from the PAN faction, Yandri Susanto, will be sworn in as Deputy Chair of the MPR on Thursday, June 30. After the inauguration, Yandri officially became the leader of the MPR replacing Zulkifli Hasan, who is currently the Minister of Trade in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

Yandri confirmed that his appointment as chairman of the MPR was based on deliberation without voting. He said, unanimously the Chairman of PAN Zulkifli Hasan decided to become Deputy Chair of the MPR from the PAN faction.

"There is no consensus deliberation without differences or second opinions. Roundly appointed me to replace Bang Zul as deputy chairman of the MPR," Yandri told reporters, Tuesday, June 28.

Yandri revealed that the process of changing Zulhas to himself had been carried out since a week ago. In fact, he said, the name of his successor as chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR has also been pocketed by the chairman.

"The daily meeting was a week ago, deliberation to reach consensus and earlier it appointed me to replace Pak Zul," he said.

So who will replace Yandri Susanto at the helm of Commission VIII DPR?

"Many Commission VIII is willing, many PAN cadres are also ready, and the daily meeting has decided, it is left to the general chairman to appoint a member of the PAN faction, whether it is from Commission VIII itself or outside? Commission VIII. Is it from Sumatra or from Eastern Indonesia, yes, that's part of the consideration for us to determine later," said Yandri. "But, his name is already in Bang Zul's pocket," he continued.

Yandri said his successor was a PAN politician from Eastern Indonesia. However, he did not reveal the name in question.

"Insha Allah the initials are from the eastern region. One of the PAN functionaries and quite senior in PAN. Possibly from outside Commission VIII," he concluded.
