BPBD Predicts Bad Weather To Hit NTT, Fishermen Are Asked To Be Vigilant

NTT - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reminded fishermen and shipping business actors operating in the waters of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to always be vigilant during strong winds and high waves hitting the waters of NTT.

"Current weather conditions are very bad with strong winds that can trigger high waves in the waters of NTT, so every shipping business actor and fishermen must be wary of," said Head of BPBD NTT Amrosius Kodo when contacted on Tuesday, June 28.

Ambrosius Kodo said that this was related to the anticipation that fishermen and shipping business players needed to do in NTT during bad weather in the form of strong winds hitting the waters of NTT.

He explained, the strong winds that hit NTT at this time triggered the occurrence of high waves in the waters of NTT.

Ambrosius Kodo emphasized that fishermen should not force themselves to go out to sea to look for fish when there are strong winds and high waves, because it is very dangerous for the safety of the fishermen.

"We hope that fishermen and business actors do not force themselves to go to sea in case of high waves because it can trigger accidents at sea," he said, according to Antara.

He hopes that fishermen and shipping businesses in this island-based province will always follow various weather information from the BMKG before going out to sea to look for fish or doing long voyages.
