These Are Some Of The Problems Of PPDB 2022 Findings By KPAI

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) found a number of problems in the implementation of new student admissions (PPDB) 2022. In May-June 2022, supervision of PPDB implementation was carried out at 16 PPDB posts, namely in North Sumatra and DKI Jakarta.

In addition to the school post, KPAI also supervises the North Jakarta Education Sub-Department post for Region 2 and at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office Command Post.

Parents of prospective new students (CPDB) came to the command post to seek information they did not understand about the terms and mechanisms of the 2022 PPDB.

KPAI's Commissioner for Education, Retno Listyarti, said that the most frequently reported problems at the command post were CPDB forgetting the password, so the account had to be reset. Then, there are CPDBs that have not pre-registered even though they graduated last year or came from schools outside DKI Jakarta.

"Accepting the achievement pathway is also a problem because parents do not understand the percentiles in the DKI Jakarta PPDB. Then, the parental assignment route is not known by the CPDB, so they feel rejected by the PPDB post of the school that they visited previously," said Retno in her statement, Tuesday, June 28.

Then, parents also complain about domicile issues or Family Cards (KK) which have just been registered after June 1, 2021. Many of them do not know that the KK domicile requirement must be before June 1, 2022.

"After June 1, the system automatically refuses. Even though this rule has existed for the last 3 years, there are still many people who do not understand. It is necessary to intensify socialization regarding the provisions for the transfer of KK," said Retno.

Retno also revealed that there were a number of CPDB parents who were angry and accused them of being unfair because they had only just learned about the rules related to the KK and asked for the rules to be revised.

"Even though the regulation is contained in Permendikbud, Research and Technology Number 1 of 2021, it was not made by the regional government. This rule was also made with a study as an improvement to the previous provisions, because previously there was a large-scale transfer of KK in a number of regions every time there was a PPDB implementation," he said.

Of these problems, Retno said that KPAI encourages the central government and local governments to increase the socialization of PPDB, including the provision for domicile of KK which must be at least 1 year when registering for PPDB. "There are still many CPDBs who do not know this rule," concluded Retno.
