KPK Gives Anti-Corruption Lecture To PDIP

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) gave an anti-corruption lecture for the PDI-P (PDIP) party management. This activity is carried out to strengthen the integrity of political parties in the country.

"Executive briefings and anti-corruption briefings in the PCB program which are intended for political party administrators are one of the KPK's efforts to encourage the strengthening of internal integrity within political parties," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ipi Maryati in a written statement to reporters quoted on Monday, June 27.

Later, the Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri will provide direct briefing to the ranks of PDIP officials who are present at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.

After PDIP, the KPK plans to also give a lecture to the Golkar Party on Tuesday, June 28. Later, this anti-corruption lecture will be conducted by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar.

"We hope that every political party can participate in this program as a form of commitment and seriousness of political parties to create a better democracy," he said.

Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who was present at the ACLC KPK building said his party has a strong commitment to preventing corruption. In fact, 215 regional heads from PDIP have made statements to prevent corruption during the Coordination Meeting of Heads and Deputy Regional Heads some time ago at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung.

This was conveyed by Hasto when participating in anti-corruption socialization and briefing to PDIP administrators from the central to regional levels through the 2022 Integrated Smart Politics Program (PCB).

Hasto said Megawati always warned PDIP cadres not to commit corruption. Not only that, they must be responsible, not corrupt and serve the community.

"We were assigned by Mrs. Mega to really all PDIP cadres have a strong commitment through the KPK's corruption prevention program. Smart politics have integrity and are integrated. This is our commitment signed by regional heads which will be followed by all members of our legislative and party structures, " said Hasto.

Hasto read out several points from the statement, namely: playing a pro-active role in preventing and/or eradicating corruption, collusion and nepotism, and not involving oneself in disgraceful acts. Not making any promises and/or receiving any promises directly or indirectly from any party in connection with the authority and/or position held.

Then, do not ask for or accept gifts directly or indirectly in the form of goods, gifts or other forms that are contrary to the laws and regulations.

"The party does not defend against those who abuse their authority," concluded Hasto after reading several points from the statement.
