Allegedly Cabuli Santriwati, Caretaker Ponpes In Banyuwangi Reported To The Police

SURABAYA - Santriwati reported an Islamic boarding school caregiver in Singojuruh, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, with the initials FZ, 53, to the Banyuwangi Police. FZ is suspected of having molested a female student who was still in high school.

"Based on temporary data, there are six victims. Five female students and one male student," said Veri Kurniawan, Secretary General of the Quick Response Team for the Protection of Women and Children (TRC PPA), confirmed on Friday, June 24.

The six victims, continued Veri, were students who served at the reported house or the term santri dalem. The alleged molestation took place at the reported house which is behind the Islamic boarding school building.

The victims were forced to obey the lust of the reported because they were threatened. There was also the lure of a sum of Rp. 500 thousand.

"Of the six victims, one was sexually assaulted, the other was abused. They were lured by a dowry or Rp. 500 thousand. They didn't like it or not," he said.

According to him, the victims had reported FZ to the Banyuwangi Police on Friday, June 17, 2022.

"A few days later the police also sent a summons to the reported party at his home. But the reported person is no longer at home," he said.

The case came to light when one of the victims complained to a teacher who teaches at the school, which is under the auspices of the reported pesantren's foundation. The victim complained that she had been molested by the reported FZ.

"The teacher then reports to the principal. Because this concerns the good name of many parties, as well as the foundation, then silence is needed," he said.

However, the search is still ongoing. It turned out that the search for the victim was not only one person, but there were also five other victims. The victims were accompanied by their families and TRC PPA activists, to then report to the Banyuwangi Police.

"Until now, the reported person is not at his house," he said.

Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Agus Sobarna Praja, confirmed a report on an alleged case of student sexual abuse on Friday, June 17, 2022. In this regard, Agus admitted that he had examined eight people.

"There are reports of underage sexual intercourse and obscenity. Investigators have examined the victims," he said.

In addition to managing the pesantren foundation, the reported FZ is a politician who was once a member of the Banyuwangi DPRD. He has also been the head of a branch of a political party in Banyuwangi for two terms.

FZ is also a former member of the East Java DPRD for the 2014-2019 period. Then FZ also briefly advanced as a legislative candidate (candidate) at the DPR level in the 2019 legislative election (Pileg), but was not elected.
