North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Arrests Convict In Case Of Embezzlement At The Tanjung Perak Prosecutor's Office

MANADO - The Fugitive Arrest Team (Tabur) of the North Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has arrested a convict in an embezzlement case who has been a fugitive so far.

Head of North Sulawesi Kajati Edy Birton said the Tabur Team arrested the convict Hendra based on Supreme Court Decision Number 869 K/Pid/2018 dated 12 September 2019 which has permanent legal force.

"The convicts were secured by the Tabur Team led by the North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Intelligence Assistant, Yos Bukara," said Edy Birton represented by the Head of Penkum, Theodorus Rucapak, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 23.

He said the convict Hendra was included in the DPO (List of People Searching) from the Tanjung Perak District Attorney based on the Letter of Determination of Searching Persons dated June 22, 2022.

After receiving an Application for Security Assistance from the Head of the Tanjung Perak District Attorney on June 22, 2022, the North Sulawesi Attorney General's Office Team began to search for the whereabouts of the convicts in Manado City.

The convict was secured by the North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Team while taking care of land documents at the Mapanget District Office, Manado City.

When secured, the North Sulawesi Attorney General's Office first explained to the convict the criminal act he had committed based on the Supreme Court's decision Number 869 K/Pid/2018, the convict acknowledged it and did not fight back.

According to the legal facts revealed in the trial, the convict had embezzled the money of the victim witness Handoko Mintojo Raharjo by using the victim's money to deviate from the purpose, resulting in the victim's witness suffering a loss of Rp. 710 million.

Furthermore, the convict was taken to the North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office to be flown to Surabaya to serve a sentence of 1 year and 3 months.
