JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling State Claims for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Fund (BLBI) confiscated assets belonging to PT Bogor Raya Development (BRD) which was carried out in the Bogor Raya Golf Area, Sukaraja, Bogor, West Java, yesterday.

The assets confiscated by the BLBI Task Force were 89.01 hectares of land in the form of the Bogor Raya golf course and two Ibis Style and Novotel hotels on the edge of the South Bogor Toll Road. The assets belonged to Setiawan Harjono and Hendrawan Harjono alias duo Harjono, obligors or owners of PT Bank Asia Pacific (Aspac) which is "allegedly" the BLBI Task Force has links with PT BRD. Duo Harjono also regretted the move by the BLBI Task Force.

Didi said that both Setiawan and Hendrawan were very surprised by the move by the BLBI Task Force. They consider that the BLBI Task Force cannot distinguish between assets belonging to the obligor or assets owned by other parties that are not at all related to the obligor.

"There is absolutely no relationship between Aspac or their personal relationship with BRD. BRD is not a BLBI obligor let alone including guarantees in the context of fulfilling obligations to the Government. Both Setiawan and Hendrawan will continue to keep their promise to pay Aspac Bank obligations as long as the value has a clear, transparent and calculated calculation. accountable. Don't forget the assets belonging to Aspac Bank which were confiscated and have been transferred by the government by violating the principles of good governance without a clear footing on the auction value," said Didi.

According to Didi, the confiscation of BRD's assets was likened to an indiscriminate way of leveling between responsible obligors and obligors who "abstained" their debts. For the losses that may arise as a result of the confiscation of BRD assets carried out by the BLBI Task Force, said Didi, it is not the responsibility of Setiawan or Hendrawan.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD led the seizure of BLBI obligor assets in the form of land assets along with two hotels and a golf course at Bogor Raya Golf.

Mahfud estimates that, if converted into rupiah, the asset will be worth IDR 2 trillion.
