NasDem-PKS Agree To Build Coalition, PDIP: Very Good To Build Coalition Early, Congratulations!

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto congratulated the NasDem Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Hasto appreciated the agreement between the two parties.

"Yes, it is very good that there is a party that early builds a coalition, between NasDem and PKS. PDI-P congratulates the NasDem and PKS coalition," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Wednesday, June 23.

Although there are a number of parties that have formed a coalition, Hasto stated that his party will not take the same steps.

The reason is that PDIP is still focused on working to help restore the condition of the community after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"For the PDI-P, our belief is to go down, to the villages, to absorb the aspirations of the villagers, to help recover from the COVID-19 pandemic," he stressed.

As previously reported, the chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, met with the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu to discuss a number of big agendas ahead of the election on Tuesday, June 22 yesterday.

After the meeting, Surya emphasized that the formation of a coalition had not been discussed. The two parties are currently still limited to gathering and preparing for political cooperation ahead of the general election.

However, he did not deny that there is a possibility of a coalition forming between his party and PKS and the Democratic Party. "For the two of us, there is not one thing that is serious enough to be discussed between us. But we have got something that has been interpreted," said Paloh during a press conference at NasDem Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 22.

"There are many common views of thought that are very, very possible to collaborate together to become a hope for increasing efforts that must be prepared from an early age so that the quality of the elections in 2024 that will come can be much better than what we have been through," he added.
