JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has officially made a number of changes to the names of roads in the capital city of Jakarta. The street names were adapted to the Betawi figures who during their lifetime contributed to the progress of the city of Jakarta. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the name change was an effort by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to preserve Betawi culture in Jakarta amidst the rapid acculturation that took place.
