Police: Demonstrations Are Still Conducive, Students Can Still Be Invited To Communicate

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Heru Novianto said the demonstration against the Job Creation Law in the Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta, was going on conducive. Two other points, in front of the DPR and the Proclamation Monument are also in a conducive situation.

"Alhamdulillah, it is still conducive to communicate with us," Heru said at the location.

Although conducive, he said, the police took action according to fixed procedures by placing Dalmas troops on site.

He added that the police also carried out raids on people who were suspected of not being students and students. It is feared that they carry dangerous goods.

"But, we haven't got it yet," he said.

In the same place, Central Jakarta Dandim Colonel Inf Luqman Arief said his troops were also on guard in today's demonstration. Arief said that TNI troops were tasked with helping with security by the police.

"We strengthen security from the police, we are in a position to help. We work together to secure this situation. We can see that everything is still conducive," said Arief.

"We don't know if there will be riots or all kinds of things but we are equally vigilant," he said.
