JAKARTA - PDI-P DPP Chair Puan Maharani said the atmosphere of the meeting between PDIP Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was relaxed and informal.

Puan shared this moment through her Instagram account, @puanmaharani, today, Tuesday, June 21 before the PDIP II National Working Meeting (Rakernas) begins.

"So, the atmosphere was very familial and before the event started, we had a casual and informal conversation in the general chairwoman's room, which was not set," said Puan to reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 21.

Although relaxed, there were a number of things that Megawati and Jokowi discussed at that moment. One of them is related to food sovereignty to conditions after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"How food sovereignty is very important. What will happen after this Covid-19, how to regulate it, don't let it spike later if there is the possibility of new variants because now BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron variants have appeared," said Puan.

"Well, it still has to be guarded, also anticipate the world crisis about how to anticipate an attack from Ukraine and Russia or the invasion of Ukraine and Russia," added Puan.

As for this discussion, continued Puan, it was deemed necessary. The goal is to prevent people's welfare from being disrupted as happened during the COVID-19 pandemic.
