Ahead Of The Anniversary Of Bhayangkara July 1, The National Police Holds Social Services For Cleaning And Renovation In 11 Thousand Places Of Worship

JAKARTA - The National Police held religious social services in 11,000 places of worship spread throughout Indonesia. This activity is carried out as a form of tolerance for all religious communities.

"This religious service activity we are mobilizing all ranks to carry out activities at approximately 11,000 places of worship throughout Indonesia," said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to reporters, Monday, June 20.

The forms of assistance provided started from cleaning, painting, renovating, then repairing all places of worship.

Then, the activities carried out in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Bhayangkara which fell on July 1, continued Sigit, as a form of the Police's commitment to maintaining the values of tolerance.

This matter is also contained in the preamble to the Pancasila state constitution, and in Article 29 of the 1945 Constitution concerning freedom of worship for religious adherents in Indonesia.

"Of course the Police must also be present for security for worship activities, and today as a proof of our love for all people in Indonesia, the Police are present together with all people from each religion," he said.

In addition, in this religious social service, the National Police will hand over 200 thousand food packages in various regions in Indonesia. This assistance is to help people who are still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Then from this social activity, today we also provide approximately 200 thousand social aids in the form of basic necessities, of which we input 200 thousand masks for all of Indonesia and DKI itself has 20 thousand masks," said Sigit.
