JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Viva Yoga Mauladi responded to General Chair Zulkifli Hasan who was surprised to see the price of basic commodities experiencing an increase in market prices.

Zulhas experienced this when he visited the market on his first day as Minister of Trade.

"Yes, maybe at first Bang Zul never went to the market," said Viva in an online discussion entitled 'Dramaturgy Reshuffle', Saturday, June 18.

Viva admitted that the increase in food prices could be monitored beforehand.

However, he said, it became a record when Zulhas went directly to the field.

"Yes, we can monitor it, but it turns out to be a record of why there is a price increase," he said.

Therefore, added Viva, the findings from the field have become the concern of the Minister of Trade to stabilize the prices of basic necessities.

"This (problem) has become positive in my opinion, to be improved, the supply and demand of 11 basic commodities is an important matter to be resolved," he said.

Previously, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan made a visit on his first day of work as Jokowi's assistant at Cibubur Market, East Jakarta, Thursday, June 16.

He admitted that he was surprised to hear complaints from buyers and sellers regarding the high prices of basic commodities.

"To be honest, I'm also in shock because buyers are complaining, those selling are also complaining. It feels like the burden of living has increased," said Zulkifli at Cibubur Market, Thursday, June 16.
