Deputy PAN Regarding Lobbying Offers By The Minister Of Trade: Only Jokowi And Zulhas Know

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (Waketum PAN) Viva Yoga Mauladi responded to the lobbying for the position of the Minister of Trade during the cabinet reshuffle, Wednesday, June 15 yesterday.

According to him, only President Joko Widodo and General Chair Zulkifli Hasan know about the position of PAN in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. "Only President Jokowi and Bang Zul know about that," said Viva in an online discussion entitled 'Dramaturgy Reshuffle', Saturday, June 18.

Viva emphasized that PAN is ready to be placed in any position in the cabinet.

In fact, said Viva, from the beginning joining PAN was committed to helping the government of President Jokowi.

"We will follow according to the policy of the president because in UU 1945 the minister's authority is in the hands of the president. Because PAN is currently a government coalition political party that is also responsible for the performance of the government, both legislative and executive institutions," he said.

Moreover, continued Viva, PAN was mandated to lead the Ministry of Trade. Where, the ministry recently attracted attention because of the cooking oil problem.

"So PAN has been given a mandate to join officially in the cabinet, with a big responsibility with a task that is not light. Because this is the Ministry of Trade who is talking about not only migrants but eleven basic commodities that must maintain stability in supply prices," he explained.

In addition, Viva added, it is also a matter of protecting the domestic economy, regulating imports and exports, increasing domestic production so that people love Indonesian products. As well as matters related to national and international trade.

"That is the main task at the Ministry of Trade, although on the one hand it is related to other ministries and stakeholders, both the business world, business actors, the community and academics," he said.

Asked again about the position of the Trade Minister as a bargaining chip for PAN, Viva emphasized that her party would accept whatever decision President Jokowi gave.

"We are not like hotcakes. Because the President must have known, thought about, and considered the strategic performance of his government, especially the minister of economy," said Viva.

"Because yesterday there was a problem, of course the president considered strategic things from the government's performance, not just political accommodation. But about improving performance that has an impact on the community so that the community is not difficult," said Viva.
