JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa said Operation Madago Raya which involved the TNI and Polri was an opportunity for soldiers to learn about the procedures for dealing with acts of terrorism.

General Andika asked all TNI soldiers to take advantage of the opportunity to study with the Police as well as possible.

"Take advantage of the opportunity to work together in Operation Madago Raya to learn, so that we (TNI) understand more," said General Andika, quoted from General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube account, Friday, June 17.

According to him, Operation Madago Raya is an ideal operation for TNI soldiers to take a closer look at how the Police, as law enforcement officers who do have the authority as investigators, tackle terrorism and radicalism.

"We have the opportunity to see the way the Police are legal officers who do have the authority as investigators in the general justice system in Indonesia," said General Andika.

"So the steps they take are very procedural. Therefore, this must be emphasized to the soldiers who are part of the Madago Raya Task Force," he continued.

By studying and understanding the procedures for taking action against terrorism carried out by the Police, he believes that the TNI personnel involved in Operation Madago Raya will understand better in the future.

The current Madago Raya operation is focused on the Poso area, Central Sulawesi, to create a conducive situation. The target of the operation is the eradication of acts of terrorism carried out by several individuals.

Since being operated in 2016, Operation Madago Raya has succeeded in disabling several targets and until now there is still one wanted list (DPO) that is the target of the operation.

In his direction, the former Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) said that his party would continue to try to meet the needs of supporting facilities, such as vehicles and rejuvenation of the main weapon system equipment (alutsista). This is to support the smooth operation of Madago Raya so that it is in line with the expected target.
