3 Names Of Presidential Candidates Announced At The NasDem National Working Meeting To Be Offered To The Coalition

JAKARTA - NasDem Party DPP chairman Willy Aditya confirmed that his party would soon build a coalition with other political parties after announcing the names of three presidential candidates at the 2022 national working meeting (rakernas).

Willy said the three presidential candidates would be offered to political parties as capital to build a coalition towards the 2024 presidential election.

"We will agree, we will build an understanding with other parties with these three names who do you think will be suitable. On that basis, a coalition was built," Willy told reporters at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, 17 June.

Willy assessed that communication with other parties must be immediately built to carry the same presidential candidate in the coalition. Because according to him, it is a necessity that NasDem cannot carry a presidential candidate on its own.

"NasDem only has half the tickets. NasDem doesn't have a boarding pass yet. So we will have a dialogue," he said.

Regarding the plan to offer three presidential candidates to the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB), Willy admitted that he opened the possibility. He emphasized that NasDem is also open to opposition parties and outside KIB such as Democrats or PKS.

"It's possible. NasDem doesn't have a handicap with any party and NasDem doesn't have one, you have to choose this, don't you. What's important, Pak Surya says, don't always be egotistical, 'Oh, we are more Pancasilaist, more Indonesianist, no, no '," he said.

Willy said, NasDem is not divided by nationalist and religious identity.

"Because we fight, we fight, within the corridors of the same constitution," he added. Whoever it is. We are not picky. There is no red onion," he concluded.
