JAKARTA - During her working visit to East Java, DPR Speaker Puan Maharani took the time to greet Surabaya residents who live in densely populated villages. Puan visited the residents of North Perak, who mostly lived along the railroad tracks.

Wearing a black suit and sneakers, Puan walked along the railroad tracks that divide the Prapat Kurung Tegal Village, North Perak, Pabean Cantian, Surabaya, Wednesday 15 June. Along the road beside the train tracks, he met people who were on the terrace of his house.

Puan immediately became the target of selfies of residents who did not expect to be visited by the number one person in the people's representative institution. Several times he talked for quite a while with the villagers.

In front of the RW office, Puan had a discussion with a number of local women. On that occasion, he also gave quizzes for residents.

"What do you know about the figure of Puan Maharani?" asked Mrs.

Residents were scrambling to provide answers. Some said that Puan was the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the grandson of the Proclaimer and the first President of Indonesia Soekarno, to the daughter of the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri. Some even call Puan a beautiful state figure.

To residents who answered correctly, Puan gave a merchandise gift. He also distributed basic food packages for villagers and PMT (Supplementary Food Provision) for pregnant women and children.

In particular, the first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives visited 2 elderly people. Puan then provided wheelchair assistance for the two elderly mothers named Tirah and Wagiyati.

"I hope Tirah and Wagiyato are always healthy," he said.

The two elderly mothers who received the wheelchair assistance wished Puan success in carrying out her duties.

After providing assistance, Puan is scheduled to immediately leave the Prapat Kurung Tegal village. Even so, the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture chose to walk again along the train tracks because there were still many people waiting for him.

Some residents even shouted to pray for Puan to be given the mandate to become president.

Not to forget, Puan reminded residents to always be vigilant in looking after their children, considering that their house is near the train tracks. Many residents also expressed their hope that the government would pay more attention to it.

"I will immediately talk to the Regional Government and Council Members in Surabaya to be able to continue to help the ladies and gentlemen who still live in Prapat Kurung," said Puan.
