Tomorrow's Demonstration Is Claimed To Involve 10 Thousand Workers, Police Deny Notification Of Only 6 Thousand

JAKARTA - A group of workers who are members of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) will hold a demonstration in front of the DPR building, Wednesday, June 15 tomorrow. Police said they had received a notification letter regarding the action.

"The notification letter has been received," said Director of Intelligence and Security Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hirbakh when confirmed, Tuesday, June 14.

However, there are differences regarding the number of participants in the demonstration. Based on the notification letter, around 6 thousand workers will participate in the action to convey their opinion. "Their notice is 6,000. The labor element only," said Hirbakh.

Meanwhile, KSPI President Said Iqbal said this action would involve nearly 10,000 workers.

These thousands of workers will submit five demands, one of which is the rejection of the revision of the Law on the Establishment of Legislation (UU PPP).

"The action on June 15 will be centered in the DPR RI involving 10 thousand workers," said Iqbal.

Meanwhile, the 5 demands in the demonstration were to reject the revision of the PPP Law, and to reject the omnibus law of the Job Creation Act.

Then, rejecting the election campaign period is only 75 days, but must be 9 months according to the law, pass the PPRT Bill, and reject the liberalization of agriculture through the WTO.
